Our childhood was spent in Marske by the Sea, and this pud was a very popular one in our house in the 1950s! I think because it kept the North Sea wind at bay. We have memories of Jack Frost on the INSIDE of our windows, and bare legs being sand blasted as the wind whipped up the first 6 inches of loose sand on the beach. Happy days of warm full tummies with this pud, always served with golden syrup and Birds custard.
